Hang w/ Announces Plan to Monetize and Share...

October 2, 2014

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — MEDL Mobile, Inc. (OTCQB:MEDL), a leading developer of mobile applications for the Apple iOS and Android platform and the developer of the Hang w/ live social video platform, has announced that the company plans to begin advertising and begin sharing advertising revenue with its broadcasters.

The Hang w/ platform allows users to broadcast live streaming video via a mobile device to followers within the app, on Facebook, on Facebook fan pages, on the web, and on the broadcaster’s own website or blog. Viewers of the live broadcast can chat with the broadcaster and with each other during the broadcast.

The company’s patent-pending technology delivers a notification to a broadcaster’s followers at the start of each broadcast and is built to deliver a short video ad to the viewer prior to each broadcast; and a rich-media ad unit after each broadcast. Thus, making each user video it’s own micro tv show – complete with advertisers.

“I believe the real money is going to be earned not just by the household names, but by these kids who are living the life of an artist, and sharing it live,” said Timothy ‘Timbaland’ Mosley, Grammy Award Winning Producer of Jay Z, Justin Timberlake and others, and an early investor in the Hang w/ platform. “Hang w/ is the future. I watch the kids broadcasting on this app and I can see who’s next.”

Spending for the Mobile Advertising Market hit $18 Billion in 2014 and is predicted to reach $42 Billion by 2017 according to Gartner.

“This has been our vision since day one,” said Andrew Maltin, CEO. “Hang w/ was built on the premise that content creators should be paid for their efforts. The creators and the content have continued to improve and now is the time to catapult Hang w/ to the next level by enabling those creators to generate income.”

To date, Hang w/ users have created millions of live broadcasts and the platform has attracted a broad range of celebrity users who see the revenue to be earned by building a loyal social media following.

Broadcasters include 50 Cent, Ali Landry, Andre Drummond, Brooklyn Nets, Cheech and Chong, Claudia Jordan, Coco Crisp, Jake Ellenberger, Jamie Kennedy, Jared Leto, Josh Reddick, Julius Thomas, Kaskade, Larry the Cable Guy, Lucy Hale, Mike Metzger, Soulja Boy, Tony Orlando, Terrell Owens, Timbaland, UFC and Ultimate Poker.

Not surprisingly, the ability to “Hang w/” their favorite celebrity has been shown to be a powerful draw for the social media. In fact, engagement numbers for the platform have been shown to outpace Facebook likes by 5:1, Instagram Comments by 19:1 and Twitter Retweets by 195:1 for celebrity broadcasters. (source)

Beginning November 3rd, 2014, Hang w/ plans to pay 25% of the net advertising revenue generated by each broadcaster back with that broadcaster.

As previously announced, additional monetization platforms including pay-per-view and subscription based following, also with revenue sharing back to the content creator, are now in development as well.

“App developers always trying to figure out how to get money from their users,” added Maltin. “We want to be the app that sends money to our users.”

The Hang w/ app is free and available for download on the Apple App Store and on Google Play by clickingwww.hangwith.me. Users are encouraged to begin building their followings in anticipation of the full roll out of the User Monetization program.
